Students from Pakistan participanting The Seventh Asian Science Camp 2013 called on Ambassador Farukh Amil (فاروق عامل)

      The Seventh Asian Science Camp 2013 (ASC) was held at Tsukuba International Centre from 25-30 August, 2013 with over 200 students from across Asia.  The high achieving students from Pakistan called on the Ambassador at the Embassy to talk about their experiences.  In encouraging the students to excel, the Ambassador strongly underscored the importance of education especially in science to truly develop Pakistan’s potential. He stressed that educated youth were Pakistan’s hope for tomorrow.

      The ASC was hosted by the Japanese Science & Technology Agency and High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK). Leaders at the Camp included several Nobel Laureates in Physics and Chemistry.  The ASC aims to engage science-talented youth with leading scholar and promote international friendship between the brightest students of Asia’s next generation.  The students from Pakistan performed very well, winning Awards for their presentations.

       Informing the Ambassador of their excellent experience:

      Mr. Hamza Afzal Khattak (Cadet College, Hasanabdal): “ASC served its purpose and united all races, religious and languages under a single flag of science.  Making friends with people from other countries was the best part and I will always remember this camp for the rest of my life.”

      Ms. Mahnoor Malik (Fazaia Inter College Nur Khan): “ASC was an ideal event to interact with both scientific pioneers in the world and students from other countries and to develop life-long friendships.”

      Syed Saim Shujaat (Cadet College, Hasanabdal): “From cultural exchange to making new friends, I cherished every moment at the ASC.  It was certainly the best experience of my life.”

      Mr. Salaar Amir Pirzada (Beaconhouse, Lahore): “I enjoyed interacting with people from different cultural backgrounds and discussing common scientific interests with bright students from around the world.”
