Tokyo (March 12, 2013) –Ambassador Farukh Amil (فاروق عامل) called on the Mr. Tadakazu Kimura, President and CEO of a leading Japanese newspaper Asahi Shimbun today. They exchanged views on matters of mutual interest. The Ambassador briefed Mr. Kimura on the democratic process in Pakistan noting that for the first time in the history of Pakistan a democratically elected Government would be completing its five year tenure and handing over to the next democratically elected Government.

The Ambassador underlined the need for Japanese industries to maintain their brand recognition and consumer loyalty and accordingly make investments in Pakistan for the new generation. 

Mr. Kimura enquired about Ms. Malala Yousufzai highlighting that she was loved in Japan. The Ambassador said that Ms. Malala was a brave young girl, a symbol of courage and an articulate voice for girls education. The children of Pakistan, like in all countries, were the nation’s future.

The Ambassador expressed deep appreciation for Japanese help for the development of Pakistan without conditions. This underscored that Japan with its Asian values treated Pakistan with respect and dignity. Japanese assistance in infrastructural projects was immense and help during calamities was greatly appreciated by the people of Pakistan.
