Deputy Chief of Mission welcomes delegation from Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering & Management Sciences (BUITEMS)

Mr. Ali Javed, the Deputy Chief of Mission welcomed the visiting delegation from BUITEMS, led by Vice Chancellor and faculty members earlier today and gave a comprehensive briefing on bilateral, political, parliamentary, trade and cultural relations and lauded the role played by Pakistani diaspora in furthering bonds of friendship with Japan, underlining their efforts to provide relief assistance to Japanese people in the aftermath of Tsunami Earthquake of  March 11, 2011.


Mr. Javed invited the Vice Chancellor BUITMES to identify suitable counterparts in Japan with a view to formalizing MoUs in the relevant fields in addition to the already existing one and suggested to establish a direct links with the Embassy through a nomination of a Focal Person from BUITEMS. BUITMES was also invited to visit the Mission website to follow key Events and relevant developments.


 

Dr. Rafique Ahmed Soomro, Press Counsellor, gave a briefing to the delegates, focusing on educational linkages and status of Pakistani students in Japan and on the scope of possible areas of cooperation and while assuring the Embassy complete support, he urged BUITEMS to directly interact with the Mission.

The Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of the Embassy and expressed confidence that further students exchanges and MoUs in the field of Civil Engineering would assist in  mitigating natural disasters including earthquakes.

The visit is taking place with JICA’s cooperation to enhance bilateral understanding in the fields of Science and Technology. At the conclusion of the Event, the Vice Chancellor presented a university shield on behalf of BIUTEMS to the Embassy of Pakistan.
