Tokyo: The Ambassador called on the President of Asahi Shimbun Mr. Masataka Watanabe. The Ambassador briefed the President about the presence of the vibrant independent media in Pakistan and also the social, cultural, trade and economic relationship between Pakistan and Japan. He underlined that Japanese readers would appreciate the many wonderful but untold stories of culture and human endeavour in Pakistan. The President said that through mutual cooperation they would work further strengthen the understanding between the two countries. He also expressed his condolences over the death of many people due to the heat wave in Pakistan.
