Ambassador inaugurates Japan Halal Expo 2015

Ambassador Farukh Amil, as part of Mission’s drive to promote Halal Sector of Pakistan in Japan, inaugurated an exhibition of Halal products, a well-established international forum and exhibition in Japan for Halal environment and business, Japan Halal Expo 2015 at Makuhari Messe from November 25 to 26, 2015. The event was well attended by researchers, experts, religious scholars, international resource persons, representatives from Embassies in Japan, representatives from international organizations and high-ranking Government officials.


The exhibiting companies represented many countries including Japan, UK, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Turkey and UAE.  The focus of the exhibition was conducive Japanese environment in which the tourists / visitors from the Islamic world and the Japanese Muslim could spend comfortably. It was also to introduce products, equipment and services which have obtained Halal certifications. Those companies were also targeted that intend to expand their businesses into global markets to trade Halal-related products.


The Ambassador while interacting with the management and the exhibitors shared that it was important to bring together businesses in this global industry to establish relationships which are relevant both from a regional and global perspective. The presence of a large number of Exhibitors in the second edition of the Exhibition demonstrated the importance that industry sees in the production of Halal products, he added. Commercial Counsellor shared the business potential of Pakistan in this sector and encouraged global partners to capitalize on this opportunity.
