In separate meetings the Ambassador called on the Mayor of Sapporo Mr. Fumio Ueda and the Vice Governor of Hokkaido Prefecture Mr. Usamu Takai. He apprised them of the latest developments in Pakistan and also the immense opportunities for investment and developing people-to-people contacts in a variety of fields.
The Mayor and Vice Governor welcomed Pakistan's interest particularly in education, agriculture, small and medium dams and other infrastructure. The Mayor stressed the importance of sustainable, green energy solutions.
Both leaders advocated meaningful partnerships in business and commerce and in particular encouraged more Pakistani students to come and study in Hokkaido Prefecture.
