Ambassador visits Hokkaido University


The Ambassador visited Hokkaido University and met with the President of the University Mr. Yamaguchi. The Ambassador outlined the importance of education and institutional linkages between Pakistani and Japanese universities. Fully agreeing the President said that Hokkaido University had an agreement with the University of Karachi. The Ambassador underscored the necessity to energize this agreement and to expand its scope for the exchange of faculty and students. The President expressed great interest in more Pakistani students at Hokkaido University. Cost of studying in Japan is much lower than many industrialized countries given the much lower fees. Hokkaido University is particularly attractive since it offers many programs in English and scholarships. Subsequently the Ambassador gave a presentation and which was followed by a lively Q & A session.
