Lecture at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies

      Tokyo:  Ambassador visited Tokyo University for Foreign Studies.  He called on the Executive Director of the University, Professor Koji Miyazaki.  The Ambassador stressed the critical importance of building bridges of understanding through the next generation, urging formalization of cooperative Agreements/MoUs between Japanese and Pakistani universities.  Professor Miyazaki highlighted that the prestigious University had been established in 1873, focusing as a training and research institute for foreign languages, with Urdu language being taught since 1911.  Currently 27 languages are taught at the world class University with numerous exchange students and foreign professors. 

      The Ambassador delivered a lecture/presentation in the main Auditorium on Pakistan-Japan relations, ranging from early civilizational links to the role of Pakistan-UN peacekeeping across the world over several decades.  Later over coffee the Ambassador had a conversation with Japanese students who displayed their excellent skills in the Urdu language.  The students outlined their upcoming activities including a play in Urdu to be performed at the University.
