Tokyo: The handing-over ceremony of the first panel of the ‘Biggest Painting in the World 2016’ was held in Embassy. The first panel was painted by the children of Gilgit-Baltistan. Ambassador Farukh Amil handed over the paintings to Ms. Hiro Kawahara, Chief of the Earth Identity Project. The paintings will be displayed at 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. After touring the world and various locations in Japan the painting would be placed in the Honkawa Elementary School in Hiroshima, the school of Foreign Minister H.E. Mr. Fumio Kishida.
The Ambassador said that the children and creativity were the life blood of the every nation. The children represented the future and that future expressed through one giant art project would draw the world’s children together. The Ambassador reiterated the importance of art and culture in understanding the customs and traditions of respective countries, which would help strengthen relations for the next generation.
Ms. Kawahara expressed her deep appreciation for a quick response in making the paintings by children of the school in Pakistan. Inspired by the creativity of Pakistani children she expressed her desire to visit Pakistan to meet with the vibrant art and culture community.
