Ambassador Farukh Amil delivers a lecture at Toyo University

      Tokyo:  Ambassador Farukh Amil visited Toyo University to deliver a lecture/presentation to an audience which included approximately 100 students and Faculty members.  The Ambassador also met with Dean and other Professors separately.

      Toyo University is one of the oldest prestigious private universities in Tokyo, founded by a visionary Dr. Enryo Inoue in 1887.  The University has over 30,000 students.

      The Ambassador highlighted the various aspects of Pakistan-Japan bilateral relations.  As requested by the University he spoke in detail on Climate Change and National Disasters and their impact on Pakistan in the shape of floods, cyclones, droughts and earthquakes.  The Ambassador highlighted the necessity of technology transfer and capacity-building in order to mitigate the effects of Climate Change and prepare for national disasters. During the slide-show, the Ambassador screened the topographical and geographical wonders of Pakistan in addition to highlighting the vibrant and rich culture.  The interactive session was lengthy with students posing numerous questions on current issues, particularly on the status of women and state of education in Pakistan especially for girls.
