Chairman Senate Pakistan meets the Parlimentarians from Japan

      Chairman, Senate, the Honourable Syed Nayyer Hussain Bokhari along with his delegation made a brief transit stopover in Tokyo on the way to Seoul, Republic of Korea.

      During the stopover the Chairman Senate met with head of the New Komeito Party, Coalition Partner of the ruling Government and Member of Houser of Councilors, the Honourable Natsuo Yamaguchi, Parliamentary Vice Minister of the Environment, Honourable Mr.  Hideki Makihara, Honourable Mr. Motohiro Ono, Member of House of Councillors, Honourable Dr. Hiroshi Sakurai, Member of House of Representatives and Japan-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship League and Honourable Mr. Kenji Kanda, Member of House of Representatives along with other officials of the Foreign Ministry at an informal dinner hosted by the Ambassador at Pakistan  Residence.

      During the informal interaction over dinner Parliamentarians of both countries discussed matters of mutual interest and in particular ways and means to strengthen ties between the two Parliaments.  The Chairman Senate also extended invitations to the Japanese Parliamentarians to participate in the Second Executive Council meeting and the Sixth Asian Parliamentary Assembly Plenary Session to be held in Islamabad from 8 to 11 December, 2013, in order to strengthen the bonds amongst the democratic Governments in Asia. 

      Chairman Senate urged for the strengthening of bilateral trade and economic relations.  Chairman Senate, Honourable leader of New Komeito, and all the Parliamentarians agreed that exchange and interaction between the Parliaments of Japan and Pakistan was highly desirable.
