Tokyo (23rd October, 2013): Ambassador Farukh Amil visited Tokyo Broadcasting System Inc. (TBS), one of the popular TV channels with a large viewership of 42% in private sector in Japan and held meeting with President of TBS Mr. Toshichika Ishihara and his senior team.
Matters relating to mutual cooperation in the field of media and exchange of programmes were discussed during the meeting. The President TBS and the Ambassador agreed on the need to inform the younger generation both in Japan and Pakistan about the culture and civilization of each other’s countries. President TBS expressed a deep interest to have MoUs signed between TBS and TV channels in Pakistan in order to bring the youth of the two countries closer to one another. The Ambassador agreed and said that the exchange of news, dramas, documentaries, musical shows and concerts will help greatly in further cementing ties. He said that the two countries enjoyed cultural and historical relations from ancient times in the shape of Ghandhara and Nara civilizations.
