Ambassador Mr. Farukh Amil visited Osaka and Kobe on September 12 and 13, 2013 to hold meetings with the Japanese businesses community in the Kansai region as a follow up to the earlier visit in February 2013. Addressing to the Expo Pakistan 2013 participants at the pre-departure meeting of EXPO Pakistan-2013 the Ambassador said that Pakistan was a very promising country with tremendous business opportunities. He briefed about the arrangements made by TDAP for the Expo participants. He explained that Expo Pakistan was show-casing a wide range of products and that they would be able to see quality products being manufactured in Pakistan. He said that their visit to Pakistan would be significant in enhancing bilateral trade between Pakistan and Japan. A Guide Manual in Japanese language was also distributed among the delegates.
The Ambassador also held a meeting with Mr. Yoshihide Kuzumoto, President, Osaka International Business Promotion Centre and his team to discuss participation of Pakistani exhibitors in the trade fairs organized in INTEX Osaka. The meeting was followed by his visit to “The World Food and Beverage Great EXPO 2013 in Kansai” to see the exhibits of Japanese Companies and to evaluate the possibility of organizing Pakistan Single Country Exhibition.
In a meeting with Mr. Tadaharu Ohashi, Chairman of Kobe Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Adviser, Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd, the Ambassador highlighted the trade and investment opportunities in Pakistan. He underlined the Government’s business friendly initiatives. He invited the business community of Kobe to invest in energy as well as infrastructural development projects of Pakistan. Mr. Ohashi expressed keen interest in visiting Pakistan in the near future and said that the visit of the Ambassador was very informative and would like to share the information received with the leading members of the chamber. He further apprised that Pakistan has strategic and economic advantages for Japanese investors and businessmen. Above all Pakistan is a tested friend.
