           Ambassador Mr. Farukh Amil visited Osaka and Kobe on September 12 and 13, 2013 for meeting at the leading Universities.

             Ambassador called on Mr. Kenzo Abe, Vice President of Osaka University on September 12, 2013 and Ambassador (R) Professor Takahiro Shinyo, Vice President of International Strategy, Kwansei Gakuin University on September 13, 2013. Both are among the most prestigious universities of the Kansai area. During the meetings, the Ambassador highlighted the importance of student and faculty exchange programs. His proposal to institutionalize such arrangements through signing of MoUs with the leading Pakistani universities was highly appreciated. He shared his vision to learn from Japanese experience of triangle of ‘Academia-Innovation-Industry’, which is a key to progress.  While appreciating the visit of the Ambassador to the university, Mr. Abe informed that urdu is being taught in the Osaka University since independence of Pakistan and they are regularly sending their students to Pakistan for Master degrees.

             Mr. Shinyo said that he would love to receive students from Pakistan; they should apply to the university under its scholarship programme. He also invited the Ambassador to visit the university in November to deliver a lecture about Pakistan.
