Pakistan Ambassador Farukh Amil called on Vice Minister for International Affairs, Ministry of Economy, Trade & Industry Mr. Norihiko ISHIGURO

      Tokyo (August 7, 2013) –Ambassador Farukh Amil (فاروق عامل) called on Vice Minister for International Affairs, Ministry of Economy, Trade & Industry  Mr. Norihiko ISHIGURO. They discussed matters of mutual interest such as trade, investment, development, transportation systems, culture, and political relations between Japan and Pakistan. The Vice Minister expressed his appreciation towards improvement of bilateral economic relations. He expressed his optimism towards more investment in Pakistan as a follow up of last year business delegation who visited Expo Pakistan. He asked for close interaction between his ministry and the embassy for preparing proposals to be discussed in the upcoming Pakistan-Japan Public-Private dialogue, planned for March 2014.

      The Ambassador thanked the Vice Minister for the help and assistance by the Government of Japan over the decades to build infrastructure in Pakistan. He also expressed appreciation that this unconditional help and assistance was rendered with respect and dignity. Japan’s help during the 2005 earthquake and 2010 floods was not to be forgotten. The Ambassador said the Pakistan would surely welcome the support of Japan for its future infrastructure projects especially Karachi Circular Railway project that would help to revitalize Karachi as a business hub.
