Tokyo (June 28, 2013) –Ambassador Farukh Amil (فاروق عامل) called on President of JICA Mr. Akihiko Tanaka. The Ambassador briefed Mr. Tanaka on the latest developments in Pakistan. President JICA welcomed for the smooth democratic transition that had recently taken place.
The Ambassador expressed appreciation for Japan’s assistance over the decades which was rendered with respect and dignity. The Ambassador said that the new Government had identified the critical areas of infrastructure development in energy, dams, urban transportation including the Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) project. Mr. Tanaka affirmed Japan’s commitment to Pakistan and highlighted the importance of dealing with the challenge of polio.
