Tokyo (June 28, 2013) – The Ambassador called on Mr. Takamizawa, President of National Institute of Defense Studies (NIDS). Many issues were discussed including academic interaction between NIDS and NDU (National Defence University), Islamabad and also the exchange of Professors, researchers between the two eminent centres of learning.
The Ambassador highlighted the traditional strong role of Pakistan in Peace Keeping activities around the world. Pakistan’s valuable contribution and reputation was appreciated by President NIDS commenting that Japan could also benefit from the sharing of valuable experience.
The Ambassador encouraged that Japanese academics and researchers should establish formal contacts with their counterparts in Pakistan. Such an academic discourse would improve understanding and enhance cooperation between Pakistan and Japan.
