Tokyo: A delegation from Balochistan University of Information Technology Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEM) led by Professor Dr. Ehsanullah Kakar, Dean Faculty of Engineering called on the Ambassador. They were accompanied by a JICA specialist team. They apprised the Ambassador about their visit to Akita University, which is supporting a project at BUITEM to improve the Faculty of Education and strengthen its job-placement support system. The project is funded by JICA.
The Ambassador welcomed the delegation’s interaction with the Embassy and emphasized the need to establish institutional linkages between the Universities of Pakistan and Japan. As an immediate, do-able measure, he urged the delegation to invite the Faculty members from Japan’s related Universities to BUITEM to participate in Convocations and to deliver lectures in order to enhance knowledge on Japan’s advanced educational system, opportunities and scholarships among the students of Balochistan.
The Ambassador reiterated appreciation of JICA’s activities in Pakistan, underscoring the centrality of education-for-all as the bedrock of any nation’s progress.
