Visit to Saitama University

      Tokyo:  Ambassador Farukh Amil (فاروق عامل) visited Saitama University to meet with the President of the University Mr. Yoshihiko Kamii and discussed the matters of mutual interest such as exchange of Faculty and students and a proposal to sign a MoU between Saitama University and UET, Lahore.   The President of the University praising the performance of Pakistani students, described them as excellent and contributing effectively in their respective fields of research and learning.  Pakistani students are pursuing graduate studies in Masters and Ph.D programmes in various fields including environmental and civil engineering.

     Speaking on the occasion the Ambassador highlighted the lengthy relationship between Pakistan and Japan especially in culture, civilization, business and trade.  He strongly emphasized the need to establish linkages between the Universities in Japan and Pakistan.  This would greatly help in knowledge and technology transfers and human resource development.  The Ambassador emphasized that the MoU would be a tree of knowledge growing between the two countries and through exchange of students and Faculties we could learn from each other’s experience.  The Ambassador urged the Pakistani students to acquire cutting-edge skills of Japanese technology and practically apply this expertise to promote education and industry for the prosperity of the citizens in Pakistan.

      The Executive Director & Vice President of the University Dr. Hiroki Yamaguchi gave a detailed briefing about Saitama University’s different Faculties and its close linkages with the major universities in Asia, Europe and Americas.  He expressed his desire to sign a MoU with UET.  Subsequently the Ambassador made a presentation to the students and senior Faculty members drawing lively questions in the session.
