Visit to Nagoya University

Continuing with the programme to engage with leading Japanese Universities, Ambassador Farukh Amil (فاروق عامل) visited Nagoya University.  The Ambassador impressed upon President Mr. Michinari Hamaguchi and the Faculty the need to increase academic interaction between Japan and Pakistan including Faculty exchanges and increase the number of Pakistani students studying in Japan.

Nagoya University is a leading Japanese University that has established itself as an Asia Hub for education and knowledge exchange.  The University is embracing academia innovation and news industry concepts and has agreements with other leading universities, colleges and industry around the world.

The Ambassador underscored that the biggest gift any one could give was education.  Japan had consistently assisted Pakistan in social and educational sectors and accordingly the development of human resources should be considered a priority, also given Pakistan’s youthful population.

President Nagoya University in welcoming the visit underlined his deep interest in attracting more Pakistani students.  He also supported the idea to set up formal institutional linkages with a leading Pakistani University so as to further academic research and collaboration and encourage Pakistani students to study in Japan.  He highlighted that many scholarships were available for suitable candidates.  The Ambassador said that Pakistani students would greatly benefit by studying at a world class University, such as Nagoya, which also has four Nobel Laureates in the Sciences.
