Visit of Commercial Counsellor to Nagoya- Aichi Prefecture ( Central Japan)

      Tokyo- As per Prime Minister’s guidance for foreign policy to aggressively pursue economic diplomacy and the directions of the Ambassador of Pakistan to Japan regarding Mission’s new strategy to bring Pakistan’s vibrant and resourceful community in Japan to be partners in prosperity of Pakistan, through joint ventures especially in SME’s sector the Commercial Counsellor visited Nagoya –capital of Aichi Prefecture which along with other four prefectures of Gifu, Mie, Shizuoka and Nagano comprises Central Japan. This region blessed by natural surroundings, fertile plain and rich fishing grounds has developed a diverse culture and an industrial base that has become world-class center for industry and technology and represents about 15% of Japan’s GDP, 27 % Japan’s manufacturing, 17% Japan’s agriculture, 21 % Japan’s exports and 12 % Japan’s imports This region has also established close ties with countries around the globe through international cooperation and technology transfers.

      In his meetings with Nagoya Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chubu Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry, Chubu Economic Federation, and leading Pakistani business community, Pakistan’s trade and investment potential was discussed with an aim to find out mutual areas of cooperation.

      It was very encouraging that Japanese stakeholders showed keen interest in the potential of Pakistan and agreed to extend all kind of support to the business promotion activities to be planned by the Mission in this region. The potential sectors of mutual cooperation were identified as agriculture, textiles, surgical instruments and vendor industry of automobile sector.
