Speaking at the Chigasaki Chuo Rotary Club, the Ambassador welcomed all efforts to address health challenges in developing countries. A symposium was held on family health education in Pakistan. General Manager National Rural Support Programme (NRSP), Mr. Agha Ali Javed, United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Tokyo Office representative, the President of Association of Medical Doctors of Asia (AMDA) Dr. Suganami and the President of Chigasaki Rotary Club Mr. Deyama attended the event. In his comments the Ambassador outlined the critical importance of providing adequate health care for children, in particular the girl-child. The event was well attended by leading society members of Chigasaki City. High Profile attendees include Parliamentarian H. E. Mr. Taro Kono, son of the former Japanese Foreign Minister and the Mayor of Chigasaki City.
