Seventy Five Pakistani Students visits Embassy of Pakistan

Seventy-five students, aged between 15-27 years, representing a range of High School to Graduate level institutions across the four provinces of Pakistan are currently in Japan on a week-long visit at the invitation of the Government of Japan under the second edition of Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths commonly known as JENESYS 2.0

    

The students spent an evening at the Pakistan Embassy on Monday, February 10, 2014. Also present on the occasion were Deputy and Assistant Directors for Pakistan at the local Foreign Ministry and five organizers of JENESYS 2.0

    

An hour-long  interactive session was held with the students affording them with an opportunity to freely interrelate with current Pakistani post-graduate students, Research Fellows and Lecturers in Japan. This was made possible with the participation of Pakistan Students Association-Japan (PSA-J) which had been specially invited. Visiting students, therefore, benefitted from the experience of Pakistanis already studying in Japan in Civil Engineering, Medicine and Economics

    

Welcoming the students, the Charge` d’Affaires ai, encouraged them to consider studying at leading Universities across Japan in the fireld of Civil Engineering and to benefit from cutting edge Research and Development (R&D) Programs in fields of Physics, Medicine and Alternate Energy. He also urged the students to learn a foreign language to secure a multidimensional and prosperous future.

    

Charge`dAffaries ai expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Government of Japan for providing Pakistani youth with the invaluable opportunity to observing first hand its achievements in science and innovation and visit its leading institutions.

    

Mr. Uchiyama, Senior Assistant to Managing Director, Int’l Exchanges Department, Japan Int’l Cooperation Center (JICE- an NPO) thanked the Embassy for hosting the students and for organizing the activity. He underlined that the Embassy’s support had reinforced JENESYS program and given the students the desired confidence and encouragement.

      

The Event received wide coverage by Pakistan-based TV channels in Japan and also by Japan based Pakistani ethnic and social media networks and websites.
