Seminar and dinner with Pakistan academic and students community

Tokyo:  In continuation of the Embassy’s promotion and engagement with the Pakistani academic community in Japan, a seminar followed by dinner was held on Saturday 29 August 2015.  Graduate students of the Pakistani community led by Pakistani Students Association, Japan (PSA-J) organized an event in coordination with the Embassy.  Following the recitation from the Holy Quran, the experiences were shared between the outgoing students and the new comers.  On this occasion, Ambassador Farukh Amil urged the students to rededicate themselves for the scientific and technical uplift of Pakistan.  There was a lively question and answer session.

The Ambassador reminded the academics and students that September 2015 marked the 50th anniversary of the 1965 War.  He urged the students to recognize the heroism and martyrdom of the Pakistan’s Armed Forces and offered prayers for the Shuhada.  The Ambassador said that our generation was enjoying freedom because of the ultimate sacrifice made by the valiant, selfless Shuhada who had secured our safety with their blood.  The Ambassador emphasized that this must never be forgotten.

The Ambassador urged the students, many of whom have excellent technical and scientific expertise, to return to Pakistan after completing their studies to contribute their knowledge and skills for the welfare and development of the citizens of their beloved country.

Later the students enjoyed mangoes which for the first time are available across Japan in great number and at leading retailers through the dedicated efforts of the Commercial Wing.
