Tokyo: The Ambassador called on President and CEO of Nippon Television Network Mr. Masataka Watanabe. President Nippon TV agreed that there should be more interaction between media organizations of Japan and Pakistan. The Ambassador said that increased interaction would be essential not only for raising mutual awareness in each other countries but also, given Japan advanced media industry, could be of immense technical value through training programmes.
President Nippon TV in expressing interest in exchange of programmes between Nippon TV and corresponding TV networks in Pakistan underlined that in particular Japanese animation, which Nippon Television Network specializes in, would also prove to be popular in Pakistan. The Ambassador said that programmes dubbed in both Japanese and Urdu show-casing respective cultures was essential in deepening understanding between the two friendly countries. The Ambassador, inviting the President and senior Executives of Nippon TV to visit Pakistan, stressed the importance of seeing the country for themselves and its many positive features.
