Meeting with AEON Group

Ambassador Farukh Amil (فاروق عامل) along with the Commercial Counsellor visited AEON Headquarters to meet the new Vice President Mr. Eiji Shibata and senior executives of the company.  The Ambassador underlined the Government’s focus on restructuring the economy and upgrading the infrastructure.  The Ambassador urged him to personally visit Pakistan at the time of Joint Government Business Dialogue for a hands-on assessment of Pakistan’s dynamism and potential.   He extended AEON group invitation to be the part of the official delegation to Expo-14 in Karachi and suggested a separate composite AEON Business Mission comprising sectors of textiles, halal food, mangoes and agriculture produce.  The Ambassador reiterated his request for the support of the Japanese corporate sector for fair market access for Pakistani goods, especially textiles.

Mr. Shibata thanked the Ambassador for visiting AEON and informed that AEON Top Value Co. Ltd, currently engaged in sourcing from Pakistan, was one of the trading companies of AEON Group, dealing with import/export, processing and wholesale of clothing, food and household’s goods. He expressed keen interest in Pakistan in the near future and said that the briefing by the Ambassador was very informative. Sharing the new marketing plan of the company he said Pakistan stood a good chance to be a potential sourcing country of textiles, mangoes and halal food products. He assured support for the upcoming Expo-14 in Karachi and the Joint Government Business Dialogue in Islamabad. 

The Ambassador presented Mr. Shibata with an excellent example of Pakistan apparel, a Pakistan-made tie.
