Kashmir Black Day

Tokyo (26-10-2014): An Event in connection with the Kashmir Black Day was held at Pakistan Embassy Tokyo to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir and protest the occupation of Kashmir by Indian Forces.  Speakers representing Pakistani and Kashmiri community as well as President, Pakistan Students Association, Japan addressed the gathering and underlined the systematic atrocities committed by Indian Security Forces and called upon the urgent resolve of Kashmir issue in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.

Speakers also called upon the international community including Japan and international human rights bodies to take due cognizance of the plight of the Kashmiri people.

On the occasion, the Charge’ de Affaires a.i. recalled the recent address to the United Nations General Assembly by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, stating that the initiative had shot a new energy in the Kashmir cause by highlighting the injustice being meted out to the Kashmiri people.  He pointed out a series of latest cross-border shelling and firing incidents from Indian Security Forces which have provoked international conscience and underlined the resolve of the government to continue to support the Kashmir issue morally, politically and diplomatically.

A Pakistani poet read thought provoking poem to mark the occasion which was very well appreciated by the audience.
