Tokyo: Embassy of Pakistan in collaboration with Pakistan Students Association Japan (PSA-J) organized the Independence Day Friendly Cricket Tournament at the Grounds of the Tokyo University. The tournament was arranged as part of the ongoing “Taqreebaat-e-Youmi-Azadi” under the special directives of the Honourable Prime Minister of Pakistan.
The teams included Pakistan Embassy, GRIPS Scholars, PSA-J and Pakistani Community Saitama. The teams displayed entertaining cricket on the luxuriant ground of the Tokyo University. On conclusion of the Tournament, Ambassador Farukh Amil (فاروق عامل) gave away prizes to the teams and expressed his optimism that with continued support from the esteemed Pakistani community in Japan especially the youth, the Embassy will highlight the many positive aspects of Pakistan, through sports, education and literature.
The matches were greatly appreciated by the participants and spectators alike, bringing a healthful and good-sprinted image of Pakistan to Tokyo.
