Iftar-Dinner in honour of Japanese Muslims at Pakistan Residence

Tokyo:  An Iftar-dinner was held in honour of eminent Japanese Muslims at Pakistan Residence.  Amongst the invitees was the Guest of Honour, the President Japan-Muslim Association, Mr. Amin K. Tokumasu.

Outlining the history and development of Japanese Muslims, Mr. Tokumasu welcomed the Embassy’s active engagement with the Japanese Muslim community.  Expressing appreciation of his first ever visit to the Embassy Residence, Mr. Tokumasu said that the Japan Muslim Association was the oldest Muslim organization in Japan, established in 1952 and officially registered in 1968.  The Japan Muslim Association is the leading organization for Japanese Muslims headed by Mr. Tokumasu since 2003.

The Ambassador noted the central role of the Pakistani community in Japan in fostering and strengthening the identity of Muslims in Japan.
