Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado inaugurated Calligraphy Exhibition


Tokyo:  Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado, as the Guest of Honour inaugurated the Calligraphy Exhibition at the Pakistan Embassy.  Lt. General/Ambassador (Retd) Humayun Bangash, who is the Patron of the Calligraphic Association of Pakistan, displayed his calligraphy art work at the Embassy.  Amongst the guests who attended the Exhibition were from the Diplomatic Corps, Parliamentarians, Corporate Executives, the academia and the media.  


HIH Princess Takamado praised the art of calligraphy, drawing comparisons with traditional Japanese calligraphy.  HIH Princess Takamado appreciated the beauty of the calligraphy and understood the meaning through the Japanese translations which had been placed alongside the paintings. 


The Ambassador in welcoming the HIH Princess Takamado, who is recognized as the premier Japanese Patron of the Arts, noted that this was the first time that an Art Exhibition had been inaugurated by a member of the Imperial Family at the Embassy.  Lt. General/Ambassador (Retd) Bangash in his comments also expressed deep appreciation for Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado.  He explained the calligraphic art work in detail to the HIH The Princess.  After touring the Exhibition the HIH Princess Takamado enjoyed some Pakistani food.
