Girl Student Programme with Tokyo Metropolitan Education Board

Tokyo:  The Tokyo Metropolitan Education Board organized a programme for high school students called ‘Take a Girl to Work Day’ in conjunction with diplomatic Missions.  A group of five girl students spent a day at the Embassy experiencing the work of various sections.  Over lunch they tasted Pakistani food and snacks.  They were presented traditional Pakistani glass bangles.

Ambassador Farukh Amil (فاروق عامل) briefed them on the leading role of women and girls in Pakistan and across the Islamic World – from the first Prime Minister to the first Speaker of the National Assembly to airline and fighter pilots to UN peacekeepers across the globe.  The girl students also benefited from their interaction with leading TV news personality Ms. Aiko Doden of NHK.
