Embassy of Pakistan Japan hosted an event to mark the “Kashmir Solidarity Day” on 5 February, 2014

     

             On February 5, 2014, Embassy hosted an event to mark the “Kashmir Solidarity Day” that drew wide participation from Pakistani and Kashmiri expatriates living across Japan. Representatives of Pakistan Students Association-Japan also participated to express their support for the cause of Kashmir.

      Charge` d’ Affaires ai read out the messages for Kashmir Solidarity Day on behalf of the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan. He also underlined the positive contributions of overseas Pakistanis in achieving the highest national and foreign policy goals and thanked them for their continued support. It was noteworthy that some had actually driven for nine hours to participate in the event.

     Opportunity was also extended to five speakers representing Kashmiri and Pakistani communities to express their thoughts and sentiments on the occasion. They reiterated full confidence in Pakistan’s moral, political and diplomatic support to Kashmiris and called upon international community to play its role in seeking the implementation of relevant United Nations Security Council’s Resolutions on Kashmir which provide for right to self-determination.

      The Event was concluded with prayers for the martyred Kashmiris who paid the ultimate price in the pursuit of their longstanding and just struggle. Prayers were also offered for the success of the Peace Initiative recently launched by the Prime Minister.

       A documentary in support of Kashmir was also screened. The event was covered by Pakistani based media in Japan.
