Deputy Chief of Mission participates in community program for Kashmir Solidarity Day


Mr. Ali Javed, Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM), participated as Chief Guest, in a program organized and hosted by the esteemed community in Saitama to mark the Kashmir Solidarity Day, on the evening of February 5, 2016.

During the proceedings, while participants expressed their views in support of the Kashmir cause, the address ofPresident of Azad Kashmir was relayed telephonically.He underlined the importance of UN Resolutions and the stance adopted by the Prime Minister in favor of Kashmir issue.


The DCM,gave details of Mission’sengagement with the Japanese Government, Think-Tanks, Media and Academia and stated that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif vision for a Peaceful Neighborhood which places Kashmir issue at the core dialogue with India, has received appreciation in international circles of influence.

The DCM, underlining gross human rights violations in Indian Occupied Kashmir reiterated complete diplomatic and moral support for Kashmirisin pursuit of their right to self-determination in accordance with the relevant UNSC resolutions.


Mr. Javed, taking benefit of the occasion, briefed the gathering on Community and Consular matters underlining that the Mission was aware of the difficulties faced by the community in processing “online applications”for National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) and was working with NADRA in the matter.

He further informed that the visa fee for the Japanese nationals was being reviewed by the Government on recommendation of the Mission to provide free of charge visas.

Reiterating their full support and commitment, esteemed community members present on the occasion, appreciated Mission’s efforts.
