Tokyo: Ambassador Farukh Amil (فاروق عامل) called on the President TV Asahi Corporation Mr. Shinichi Yoshida. The Ambassador congratulated Mr. Yoshida on his assignment as President of TV Asahi Corporation. The Ambassador outlined Pakistan’s continued march on the democratic path, highlighting that the very establishment of Pakistan came about as a consequence of the democratic yearning of the Muslims of South Asia.
The Ambassador highlighted that for the first time in Pakistan’s history the first democratically elected Government completed its tenure of five years and transferred power to the next democratically elected Government in a smooth transparent manner as highlighted by the Japanese Election Observers Group as well.
The Ambassador stressed that Pakistan’s positive story would benefit from the articulation by the important media of Japan. He encouraged more media coverage of Pakistan by Japanese news agencies which were respected for their impartiality. He said Pakistan itself had made vast strides in the development of its own vibrant media which was now thriving.
President TV Asahi Corporation appreciated the positive democratic developments in Pakistan. Underscoring the importance of free, open and democratic society, he said he was very optimistic about Pakistan’s trajectory underlining that it was a very important country.
