Business Networking Event at the Embassy Pakistani and Japanese businessmen finding their match

Tokyo:  Embassy of Pakistan organized a business interactive (B2B) networking session of TDAP/JICA business trade delegates in the Embassy of Pakistan.  The delegation comprised 11 members from Pakistan, who represented the leading manufacturers-cum-exporters of textiles, leather, sports, surgical and food sectors.  The Embassy had made extensive arrangements for the meetings of the delegates with their Japanese counterparts.

The meetings with Japanese large entrepreneurs and retail chain stores were organized in order to pursue the drive to enhance bilateral trade and investment between Pakistan and Japan through direct private sector engagement.  During the meetings the entrepreneurs from both sides met and learnt about the potential business opportunities. Notable interest was found amongst local business community.

Ambassador Farukh Amil (فاروق عامل) while talking to the Japanese entrepreneurs, on the sidelines of B2B meetings, urged the Japanese companies to keep up the momentum created by their active participation in EXPO 2013.  He said Pakistan offered immense opportunities for business and investment.  The Ambassador stressed that the Pakistani community in Japan could play a galvanizing role for the promotion of Pakistan-Japan business due to its presence across Japan, its deep experience and knowledge of the Japanese language and business skills.   The Ambassador informed the entrepreneurs that the Embassy had embarked on a systematic programme to bring Chambers of Commerce across and Japan Pakistani communities together in business exploratory meetings.  Already Commercial Counsellor Shehzad Ahmed Khan had been deputed to visit Nagoya, Saitama and Toyama for these business coordination and exploratory meetings which have elicited a very positive response from all sides.

Commercial Counsellor oversaw all the arrangements of the “Business Match Event.” He highlighted that the opportunities were there but guided by the Embassy of Pakistan, businessmen could find their perfect match.  He underlined that the vast majority in the networking session was introducing brand new potential partners to each other, thereby creating the possibility of new openings.

The B2B meetings were followed by a working lunch where an informal interaction took place between the leading trade bodies/associations of Japan, the Japanese large entrepreneurs of the focused products and the Pakistani delegates.
