Ambassador visits Kyoto University

Ambassador visited Kyoto University. He met with senior faculty including Dr. Kayo Inaba, Executive Vice President, Prof. Junichi Mori, Vice President and Prof. Yasushi, Kosugi, Dean and Professor of Graduate School of Asian and African Area Studies, where he subsequently gave a lecture. The Ambassador emphasized the importance of academic linkages and exchanges with universities in Pakistan.

  

The Ambassador spoke about the deep-rooted Pakistan-Japan relationship in the historical perspective. He also presented a picture of Pakistani women in every sphere of life including politics, education, social and cultural fields. He apprised the audience about the role of Pakistan forces as the most significant and consistent contributor for the UN Peace Keeping Operations around the world especially in the hardest areas over several decades.

 

Kyoto University which was established in 1897 remains a leading university in the world, dedicated to research. Currently there are several students from Pakistan engaged in Graduate Studies and Post-Doctoral research. Later the Ambassador visited the facility which stores the world famous Aqeel Collection, now reportedly the second largest, voluminous and important depository of Urdu and Pakistan Studies books in the world, which also contain rare manuscripts.
