Ambassador visits JETRO

       Tokyo (June 12, 2013) –Ambassador Farukh Amil (فاروق عامل) called on Chairman and CEO of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Mr. Hiroyuki Ishige, to discuss matters of mutual interest and strategies to boost Japanese investment and business activities in Pakistan. Mr. Ishige in welcoming the Ambassador underlined that Pakistan had one of the most liberal investment policies in the world which Japanese business could take advantage of. In welcoming the new Government, Ishige underlined that the business community was looking forward to Pakistan’s new fiscal policy.

         The Ambassador underlined the importance of mega-infrastructural projects which were of direct concern to Japan including the Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) and the Japanese Special Economic Zone (JSEZ). The Ambassador emphasized that with a huge domestic market, excellent regional location, a literate population and skilled workforce, Pakistan was well placed for diversification and expansion of Japanese business in Asia.

         The Ambassador underlined that Japan should also positively consider taking young Pakistani graduates on internships with major Japanese corporations in Japan as part of a concerted strategy for human resource development.
