Tokyo: In his second visit to broadcasting giant NHK, Ambassador Farukh Amil (فاروق عامل) called on President NHK Mr. Katsuto Momii to discuss and exchange views in the important field of media and culture.
President NHK and Ambassador agreed on the need to inform the younger generation in both countries about each other’s culture, civilization and historical linkages. President NHK expressed a keen interest in taking the Japanese message abroad and in outreach efforts in Pakistan through NHK World.
The Ambassador underlined the need to strengthen cultural interaction through exchange of news, dramas, documentaries and programming highlighting each other’s performing arts. Thanking President NHK for hiring specialists for the Urdu Section of NHK Radio from Pakistan, the Ambassador urged that young Pakistanis aspiring to careers in the media should be considered for traineeships at NHK which was a world leader in the both media technology and programming.
Earlier the Ambassador met with Deputy Head, NHK World Department Mr. Tsuruo Mochizuki, Senior Manager, International Planning & Broadcasting Department Takahisa Furukawa and visited the state-of-the art News Studio and the NHK Urdu section.
