Ambassador Farukh Amil inaugurates Japan Halal Expo 2014

            Ambassador Farukh Amil inaugurated an exhibition of Halal products, the first ever international forum and exhibition in Japan for Halal environment and business, Japan Halal Expo 2014 at Makuhari Messe from November 26 to 27, 2014. The exhibition-cum-seminar was well attended by researchers, experts, religious scholars, international resource persons, representatives from Embassies in Japan, representatives from international organizations and high-ranking Government officials.

 

            The 60 exhibiting companies represented Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Turkey and UAE.  The focus of the exhibition was improvement of the Japanese environment in which the tourists / visitors from the Islamic world and the Japanese Muslim could spend comfortably. It was also to introduce products, equipment and services which have obtained Halal certifications. Those companies were also targeted that intend to expand their businesses into overseas markets to produce and sell Halal-related products. The event not only displayed food and drink, but also cosmetics and household goods. Running alongside the exhibition was the Halal World Expo Forum, bringing together experts from a broad spectrum of industries to address key issues and provide specific practical solutions for sustainable growth and development across the many fields of this diverse industry.

 

            The Ambassador while interacting with the management and the exhibitors shared that it was important to bring together businesses in this worldwide industry to establish relationships which are relevant both from a regional and global perspective. The presence of 60 Exhibitors in the first edition of the Exhibition demonstrated the importance that industry sees in the production of Halal products, he added. The Commercial Counselor said that by mobilizing domestic and international Halal stakeholders, this Expo would contribute to the development of a domestic Halal environment and the cultivation of Halal markets by Japanese companies.
