The Ambassador met with Director General UNESCO Irina Bokova who was in Japan in connection with the UNESCO World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development in Nagoya, Japan.
During an interaction with Ms. Bokova at a reception in Tokyo, the Ambassador underlined the importance of education for both girls and boys as being part of the Government’s development strategy. Director General UNESCO recalled her recent visit to Pakistan and highlighted the many challenges developing countries face. She welcomed efforts being made by Government of Pakistan.
