Delegation of JICA’s “Advancing Quality Alternate Learning Project” visits Embassy of Pakistan, Tokyo

(26-01-2017): A delegation from Pakistan currently visiting Japan under the ‘Advancing Quality Alternative Project’ of JICA met the Ambassador and officers at the Embassy. The delegation is being headed by Chairperson NCHD Ms. Razina Alam Khan. During interaction, the Ambassador Farukh Amil gave a detailed briefing on Pak-Japan relations. The Ambassador underlined that Pak-Japan relations have evolved on the principle of mutual respect and dignity.

 

The Ambassador highlighted the co-operation extended by Japan to Pakistan in the fields of trade, science, technology transfer, social and infrastructural development. He made special reference to the Japanese investment in Pakistan with 81 companies working there and achieving high profits. Appreciating the role of JICA in Pakistan, the Ambassador expressed optimism that the projects of JICA could contribute immensely towards developments and progress of various fields in Pakistan emphasizing more on the education sector. The Ambassador expressed hope that NCHD would surely play an effective role to harness the opportunities extended by Japan in education and other related sectors.


 

 Ms. Razina Alam Khan, the Chairperson of the NCHD underlined the vision of the Federal Government and NCHD for substantial increase in the literary rate. In this regard she referred to the institution of Skill Training Programme and formation of National Training Programme which aimed at imparting skill based education to the illiterate and provision of training to the teachers respectively. The Chairperson NCHD also appreciated the efforts of the Embassy for further strengthening of relations between Pakistan and Japan.
