(25-11-2016) Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Mr. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi visited Tokyo to participate at 5th Annual LNG Producer-Consumer Conference and ‘27th Meeting of the Energy Charter Conference’. On the margins of the Conferences, the Minister had number of important interactions and engagements including meeting with Mr Hiroshige Seko, Minister for Economy Trade and Industries and Mr. Motome Takisawa Parliamentary Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs and CEOs of leading corporations. The Minister recorded interviews with leading Japanese and international media including Nikkei and Bloomberg. The Minister also had a detailed tour of the world’s largest Thermal Power Plant (LNG) at Futtsu.
The Minister in his Key Speech and engagements highlighted opportunities and potential of Pakistan in energy, transport, infrastructure and power generation stating the Japanese corporations/companies may take advantage of them.
