GRIPS Academics Visit Embassy

Pakistani Researchers at Graduate Institute of Policy Studies (GRIPS), Japan's leading Think Tank, called on the Ambassador Farukh Amil at Embassy of Pakistan, Tokyo on 21 November, 2016.


The Ambassador briefed the visiting Researchers on Pakistan-Japan bilateral relations and reviewed the overall spectrum of Pakistan's engagement with world community and regional challenges. The Ambassador appreciated the role of the academia, scholars and intellectuals for the development of the country and urged them to project the true image of Pakistan through their interaction at such an influential forum.

The Researchers were keen to observe the Embassy's positive contribution for the harmonious ties between the friendly countries best exemplified in the 2014 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) and Graduate Institute of Policy Studies (GRIPS) that had built a valuable bridge between the important institutions. While exchanging the opinions in a candid  and frank manner the participants also underscored the role of the Media for a balanced view of South Asia.

Deputy Chief of Mission Mirza Salman Babar Beg, Head of Chancery Mr. Gul Qaiser and Consular and Community Affairs Officer Mr. Adnan Javaid were also present in the detailed discussion.
