As part of the Embassy’s continuing engagement with the important Think Tank community in Japan, Ambassador Farukh Amil met with Chair of the Board of the Tokyo Foundation Mr. Takeo Hoshi. The Ambassador especially stressed the historical connectivity between Pakistan and Japan, best exemplified by the Mohenjodaro and Gandhara civilizations.
Highlighting the issues of concern to Pakistan the Ambassador described Japan as important and influential power in the world. He welcomed Japan’s significant heritage of development activities in Pakistan spanning several decades. He also emphasized that Pakistan undertook major infrastructural development and holds a bright future for investment by Japanese companies being at the crossroads of major, dynamic regions, central to the re-emerging Silk Route and looking to prosper under Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif ‘Peaceful Neighbourhood’ policy.
