(11-7-2019): The 6th Round of Pakistan-Japan High-level Economic Policy Dialogue was held in Tokyo, today. Pakistan side was led by Mr. Noor Ahmed Secretary Economic Affairs Division and the Japanese side was led by Mr. Kazuyuki Yamazaki, Senior Deputy Foreign Minister.
While expressing satisfaction and reaffirming their commitment to further enhancing wide ranging economic cooperation, the two sides discussed ways and means to diversify and promote investment and trade relations in multifaceted areas.
Secretary Economic Affairs Division briefed the Japanese side on the current state of the Pakistan economy and the measures taken by the Government of Pakistan for its improvement. The Japanese side assured to assist Pakistan’s reform agenda by further assisting in enhancing competitiveness of Pakistan’s economy in order to bridge the trade deficit between the two countries.
The High-level Economic Policy Dialogue is the premier forum for discussing economic policy issues between Pakistan and Japan.
