Tokyo (March 14, 2013) –Ambassador Farukh Amil (فاروق عامل) called on the Mr. Takeharu Tsutsumi, President of daily The Japan Times. They exchanged views on matters of mutual interest. 

The Ambassador underlined the need for enhanced bilateral trade relations between the two countries and urged Japanese industries to maintain their brand recognition and consumer loyalty and accordingly make investments in Pakistan for the new generation. 

The Ambassador emphasized the need to learn from Japan’s rich experiences in the fields of academia, innovation and industry. In this context he urged the media industry and other corporations in Japan to accept graduates from Pakistan on different internship programmes. As such people-to-people contact between the two countries would further cement the bilateral friendly relations. The Ambassador said that there was a vibrant and active media in Pakistan.
    
Discussing the regional situation, the Ambassador, said that Pakistan wanted to live in peace and dignity with all its neighbours. 

The Ambassador outlined the government’s determination to pursue women empowerment in Pakistan through many programmes such as Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP). All these efforts are directed towards bringing positive changes in society.

The Ambassador invited Mr. Tsutsumi to visit Pakistan – a country rich in culture, art and civilization with historical sites of Ghandhara, Mohenjodaro and Harappa Civilizations, ancient cities of Multan and Peshawar, the Imperial city of Lahore and the metropolitan hub Karachi.
