Pakistan is a vibrant country with enchanting civilization full of colours, various shades and historical magnificence. Tourism in Pakistan is a lifelong experience which can easily captivate ones soul and spirit for its blissful moments. This was stated by Ambassador Farukh Amil while addressing an event organized by Embassy of Pakistan to promote tourism in Pakistan. The group led by Professor Chikako Oshima included members from universities, schools, artists, businesses etc.

He said that Pakistan has varied and rich culture stretching from Gilgit Baltistan in the North to Karachi in the South. He emphasized that the thousands of years old civilization of Mohenjodaro and Harappa and the birth of the Gandhara Civilization and its remains in the cities of Taxila and Takhtbhai has been a hallmark of this region. The Ambassador also gave due reference to the majestic architecture of Mughals.  


Referring to modern Pakistan the Ambassador stated that today’s Pakistan confidently progresses forward with special emphasis on tourism and development of culture. The Government always endeavors to provide maximum facilities to the tourists. He urged upon the people of Japan to visit Pakistan which is not less than a paradise on earth with four captivating seasons, biggest mountains in the world, largest deep sea port fascinating places, assorted fruits and vegetables, delicious food and above all warm and affectionate people. The people of Pakistan have special reverence for the people of Japan and keep them in high esteem. They still remember the forthcoming gesture of Japan during hard time faced by Pakistan after the most devastating earthquake in 2005.

Regarding security issues related to tourists, the Ambassador emphasized that such issues are faced by tourists all around the world and hence Pakistan is no exception.

In the lively Q&A session many participants acknowledged the fact that the presentation given by the Ambassador had alleviated various misgivings and wrong perceptions about Pakistan and they felt more confident to visit Pakistan and explore its historically rich and diverse culture.
