Green Earth Festival and Plantation of Trees (Umi-no-Mori (Sea Forest)

Ambassador Farukh Amil participated at an event “The Green Earth Festival” to celebrate the International Day of Forests organized by Forest Agency of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Japan and the Organization for Industrial Spiritual and Cultural Advancement (OISCA) supported by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Land Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism etc. at Umi-no-Mori(Sea Forest) and Miraikan (The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation). The Ambassador was received by Mr. Takashi Matsui Managing Director OISCA Japan.

The Ambassador participated actively in “Tree Planting Activity” and planted a number of trees. He appreciated the environment friendly activities being undertaken by the concerned authorities in Japan and said that such efforts were extremely important to create a peaceful and aesthetically pleasing environment.  He stressed that in present time trees were unfortunately vanishing at a very fast speed because of the global destruction of the forests.  Therefore there was a dire need to plant more trees to save our Mother Earth and nature. He further stated that it was incumbent on all of us to plant trees and nurture them for our generation and for generations to come which would certainly help the environment and resist climate change.

The Embassy also participated in “Poster Exhibition and Cultural Exchange Program” by setting up posters showing green Pakistan with its exquisite historical description and diverse cultural heritage in Miraikan. The Exhibition was visited by number of people from different walks of life throughout the day.
