Deputy Chief of Mission receives Chairman Center for Contemporary Islamic Studies Japan (CCIS)

Mr. Ali Javed, Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM), received Mr. Osamu Miyata, Chairman Center for Contemporary Islamic Studies Japan (CCIS)​, at the Embassy earlier today and briefed the latter on the status of bilateral relations, people to people contacts and parliamentary exchanges and broached the existing bonds of cooperation between the two countries' Think Tanks, Academia and Intellectuals.


Mr. Miyata outlined his Institution’s structure and activities and gave a briefing on the initiative to providing means to education in the areas affected from terrorism in Pakistan including establishment of schools in Federal Administrative Tribal Areas (FATA), as a token of support and friendship from the people of Japan.


Chairman CCIS also shared that a Press Briefing at the National Diet (Parliament) on 18 March was being organized to create awareness in the matter with a wide presence of Japanese media.

 

The DCM suggested, while appreciating the initiative, to also take the noble message to the civil society, business corporations & philanthropic organizations across Japan to widen the horizon of the outreach.

 

DCM invited Mr. Miyata to  formalizing relations with a suitable think-tank in Pakistan so as to establish bilateral cooperation towards promoting understanding on areas of mutual interest, and to this end, suggested names of appropriate potential partners in Pakistan.

 

Mr. Miyata was also extended a cordial invitation to visit Pakistan to which he expressed his willingness and keen interest. Mr. Miyata, on his part, invited the Embassy to visit CCIS. He also invited the Mission to observe  proceedings at the Diet (Parliament) on March 18th.  

 

Both sides expressed satisfaction over existing bonds of friendship and agreed to carry forward their  relationship. Third Secretaries Mr. Qaiser and Javaid assisted in the meeting that lasted two hours.
