Ambassador visits YKK

 

       Tokyo (June 13, 2013) – Ambassador Farukh Amil (فاروق عامل) accompanied by Minister (Economic) Dr. Talat Imtiaz paid a visit to YKK facility in Kurobe in Toyama Prefecture where he met with the Senior Executives of the YKK Corporation. Earlier the Ambassador had called on the President YKK in Tokyo.

        YKK Corporation started operations in Pakistan in 2007 investing $16 million in Factory Phase I and in 2012 Factory Phase 2 another $12 million were invested. YKK which employs 450 people in Pakistan is supporting the garment industry particularly for exports to US and Europe.

        The Ambassador urged YKK Corporation to offer internships for young Pakistani graduates to come to YKK Headquarters in Japan and learn from the successful Japanese corporate experience. The YKK management welcomed the idea and promised to look into this. The Ambassador and YKK Executives discussed and reviewed further opportunities for expansion of YKK operations in Pakistan.
